Madrilena Oil on artist's board 39.5 x 28 in. (board) Signed lower right, and titled on old Italian exhibition label on verso Depicting an Impressionist portrait of seated woman wearing a white scarf h. 41 x w. 28.5 in. (frame) Pitigliani was a female artist and illustrator who was a student of Roberto Melli (1885-1958) and transplant to the USA. Her mastery of color and gradients translated into a pseudorealistic view that captured the light, character, and grit of New York City in the 1970s &1980's. Over her career she was commissioned to create posters and promotional materials for NYC, Boston, Venice, and Rome, among others. Inventory Code: 1CA-15
