The Frog Prince (Il Principe Rana), 1992 Oil on board 15.75 x 11.5 in. (sight) Signed lower left, and with old Italian exhibition label and handwritten title and date on verso h. 17 x w. 12.5 in. (frame) Pitigliani was a female artist and illustrator who was a student of Roberto Melli (1885-1958) and transplant to the USA. Her mastery of color and gradients translated into a pseudorealistic view that captured the light, character, and grit of New York City in the 1970s &1980's. Over her career she was commissioned to create posters and promotional materials for NYC, Boston, Venice, and Rome, among others. Inventory Code: 1CA-63
