The interior is covered with glossy deep black glaze, densely scattered with silver-grey round oil-drop speckles spreading naturally from center to rim, resembling stars in night sky, the hallmark of oil-drop Jian ware. The outer glaze flows down with oil-drop crystals. The foot is unglazed with heavy ferruginous body. A red collector’s seal is stamped on base to testify provenance. The crystals are vivid and the glaze is calm and lustrous, a fine example of oil-drop Jian bowl.
