Publication: No record of publication Description This horizontal calligraphy work was created by Qi Gong in 1980, executed in cinnabar red ink on paper. It features his signature running script style known as “Qi Style”. The bright cinnabar strokes are fluid and powerful, with elegant and well-proportioned characters. The verses are original poems composed for the painting of four-season flowers, praising blossoms and the magic of painting to retain spring beauty. The small colophon on the left records the origin of the work, harmonising with the main text. Cinnabar calligraphy is relatively rare among Qi Gong’s oeuvre, adding special charm.
