Executed in unrestrained wild cursive, the brushwork is fluid and dynamic with rich variation in thickness, dryness and moisture. Characters are well spaced with coherent rhythm throughout the composition, balancing free expression with strict calligraphic rules. The ink is powerful and lively, conveying the homesickness of the poem through brush movements. Complete with leading seal, inscription and artist seals, this is a fine representative small cursive work by Shen Peng.
