英文名称：Qi Baishi, *Dove of Peace*, hanging scroll 英文描述：Qi Baishi, Doves of Peace, Hanging Scroll. The painting depicts two doves, one russet and one black, standing side by side in tranquil poise. Rendered with simple, naive forms, their plumage is painted in bold, broad brushstrokes. Details of eyes, beaks and feet are highlighted with strong colours to bring the birds to life. Above them blooms a full hydrangea cluster in vivid magenta, with leaves sketched freely in teal ink and naturally curved branches. The inscription “Doves of Peace” in seal script and signature “Baishi the Elder, aged eighty-nine” appear on the right. A classic subject from Qi Baishi’s late years, this work features seasoned, unpretentious brushwork embodying the wish for peace, a fine example of his flower-and-bird painting.
