英文名称：Hanging Scroll, Peonies, Ink and Colour on Silk 英文描述：This is a hanging scroll of the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty, painted in ink and colour on aged silk. The silk base carries profound antique patina. The painting depicts peonies in multiple hues: white, pink, crimson and dark purple blossoms bloom luxuriantly with densely layered petals, rendered with exquisite detail embodying noble grace. Leaves are meticulously painted with clear vein structures, paired with sturdy branches and tiny grass and flowers at the root, full of vitality. Inscription on the left: *Painted in mid-spring of Gengchen year of Kangxi, at Wugui Studio, Ma Quan from Haiyu*, with seal stamp below. Ma Quan was a renowned female painter of the Qing Dynasty, excelling in meticulous flower-and-bird painting following Song academy style, characterised by elegant colouring and refined brushwork. Old mounting with elegant patterned silk border. Creases present, main painting well preserved. A representative meticulous floral work, symbolising wealth and prosperity. 本幅为清代康熙时期绢本设色牡丹立轴，古绢质地沉厚，包浆古旧。画面绘数株牡丹，花开五色，白、粉、红、墨紫牡丹次第绽放，花瓣层层叠叠，刻画细腻饱满，极尽雍容华贵之态。叶片以工笔写出，脉络清晰，枝干苍劲，根部伴细草小花，生机盎然。 左侧题款：**康熙庚辰仲春写于五桂轩海虞马荃**，下钤印章。马荃为清代著名女画家，擅工笔花鸟，宗法宋院体，设色妍雅，笔法精工。本作旧裱，绫边纹饰典雅，虽有折痕，画面主体保存完好，是其工笔花卉代表佳作，寓意富贵荣华。
