The painting depicts gnarled ancient pines growing on cliffside, with dense and vigorous pine needles rendered in forceful, concise brushwork. Upon the slope, a scholar stands leaning on a cane, gazing upward at the waterfall and distant mountains. His robe is drawn with delicate outline brushwork, elegant and tranquil, enjoying the landscape. Layered mountain ranges stretch afar, with a waterfall cascading down the peak, creating a quiet and spacious poetic realm of literati painting. Inscription on the right: *Painted by Pu Ru, the Recluse of Western Hills, autumn scenery upon the lake*, with a red seal. Pu Ru, also known as the Recluse of Western Hills, member of the Qing imperial clan and a master of the Beijing-Tianjin school of modern Chinese painting. This work inherits the landscape tradition of Song and Yuan dynasties, with clean composition and subtle ink tones. Pine, mountains and figure are perfectly integrated, presenting an antique refined taste, a fine landscape-and-figure work by the artist. Original old mounting, natural creases on paper from age, overall well preserved. 纸本水墨，旧裱立轴。画面绘崖畔古松，苍松虬曲，松针茂密劲挺，笔墨苍劲简练。坡岸之上，高士策杖而立，仰观飞瀑远山，衣纹以白描线条写出，身姿飘逸，静赏山水。远景层峦叠嶂，瀑布自山巅垂落，意境清幽旷远，尽显文人山水逸趣。 右侧题款：**西山逸士溥儒写湖上秋色**，钤朱文印章。 溥儒，号西山逸士，清宗室，近现代京津画派代表人物。此作承袭宋元山水法度，构图简净，笔墨雅淡，松、山、人物融为一体，格调高古，是其山水人物精品。原装旧裱，纸面可见岁月折痕，整体保存完好。
