The four works depict female nudes in four poses: reclining, seated from back, seated front view and standing pose. Executed with rigorous academic draftsmanship, Xu uses confident, fluid lines and refined shading to precisely render anatomical structure, bone and muscle volume. Minimal background treatment, hatching lines define light and shadow to express the natural rhythm of human form. Each sheet retains original archival tags from his studio, complete with signature and seal. Surviving as an intact set is extremely rare.
