Qing Dynasty Hetian Greenish White Jade Hand Piece of Two Rams This hand piece is fully carved in the round from Hetian greenish white jade, featuring two rams as a traditional auspicious motif. The two rams nestle closely together with plump, rounded bodies. The sheep heads are delicately sculpted with gentle and tranquil expressions, defined by smooth and flowing lines, combining realistic form with antique charm. The jade bears fine, mellow texture with natural aged inclusions and thick patina. It is fitted with an irregular rosewood stand. The Chinese character for ram (yang) is homophonic for yang (sun/positive principle). Twin rams symbolize good fortune, harmony and health. It is a classic Qing scholar’s hand curio for handheld appreciation or desk display.
