Including one signed and sealed Fan Haolin (1885 - 1962) and Yi Lixun (1856 - 1940), dated 1925, one signed and sealed Yi Junzuo (1899 - 1972) and Zhou Shixin (1923 - 2021), dedicated to Mr. Zhaoqi; and one signed and sealed Liang Dingming (1898 - 1959) and Yang Xiaoliu. Please note: the dimensions listed are for the largest fan. Afonso Chen (1919-2009) was a well-loved and respected member of Toronto's Chinese Canadian community. Born in Macao and educated in the Portuguese school system, he worked as a journalist during World War II, where he met many renowned artists from Mainland China and Hong Kong who had sought refuge there. In 1954, Afonso became the first Chinese individual to practice law as a solicitor in Macao. After immigrating to Toronto, Canada, with his family in 1968, he joined an investment firm as a stockbroker, all the while continuing his avid collection of Chinese paintings. Affectionately known as “Uncle Al,” he made significant contributions to the community. He co-founded the Macao Club (Toronto), served with the Ontario Chinese Artist Association, and exhibited works from his extensive collection at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. Afonso's legacy is one of building cultural bridges - supporting and promoting Chinese art through his outstanding painting collection, and fostering cross-cultural understanding between Chinese and Canadian communities. （一）樊浩霖 (1885-1962) / 伊立勋 (1856-1940) 设色 / 水墨纸本 竹漆骨 成扇 钦印：少云画印 书法款识：亲巡天下，周览远方。遂登会稽，宣省习俗，黔首斋庄。群臣诵功，本原事迹。乙丑六月上澣临会稽刻石。樑才仁兄先生雅鉴，伊立勋，时年七十。 钦印：伊立勋印 31 x 50 cm （二）易君左 (1899-1972) / 周士心 (1923-2021) 钦印：周印、士心 行书释文：云霞烂漫登山路，记有约，寻春去。铁缆攀峰曾几度？木棉如火，杜鹃如血，那个人何处？轻烟阴霭，霭烟笼暮，问是谁题海棠句。归梦天涯心已许，落红千点，离愁万绪，乱叠江南雨。过花园道，见杜鹃红棉盛开，用贺方回青玉案韵，兆麒先生两正。戊戌（1958）春，弟易君左。 钦印：易君左 30 x 48 cm （三）梁鼎铭 (1898-1959) / 杨咲柳 钦印：鼎铭 书法款识：（释文不录）鼎铭贤侄属正，时庚寅大暑后七日，杨咲柳写。一印漫漶。 31.6 x 50 cm 陈毅生 (Afonso Chen, 1919 - 2009) 生于澳门，受教于葡文学校，二战期间任新闻记者，结识诸多寓居澳门的书画名家。1954年，陈氏成为首位在澳门取得律师资格并执业的华人律师。1968年携家人移居多伦多，入职投资公司，并延续对中国书画的热忱收藏。陈氏在多伦多华人社区德望素著，热心公益，贡献良多。与同侨共创多伦多澳门会，也曾服务于安省中国美术会，并于安大略皇家博物馆（ROM）、大多伦多中华文化中心等处相继展出其以成扇、扇面、扇骨为主的私人珍藏。其一生遗泽在于架构中加文化交流之桥梁，以自身的收藏阐扬传统书画艺术。 PROVENANCE Afonso Chen (1919-2009) Family Collection, Toronto
