ink and colour on paper 40 7/8 x 13 in, 104 x 33.1 cm Ink and colour on paper, mounted as a hanging scroll. Signed Sheng Mao and two seals, with various inscriptions on image and mounted to the edge. Valentine Mason was a notable director in the history of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), overseeing branches across East Asia. Following the Second World War, Mason became the first post-war manager of HSBC Tokyo when it officially reopened in 1947.
