拍品描述

Property from an Asian private collection 亞洲私人收藏 wood stand 24 cm 來源 日本私人收藏 香港佳士得2014年11月26日,編號3269 The Yongzheng reign (r. 1723–35) is celebrated for refined monochromes and archaistic porcelains that closely emulate the glazes of Song ceramics. Their subtle colours, controlled firing effects including the stained crackling characteristic of guan ware, and restrained forms reflect the emperor’s literati-inflected taste for classical elegance. Technically impeccable yet deliberately antiquarian in appearance, the present vase unites an archaic bronze-inspired form with a Song-style glaze, reflecting the Yongzheng revival of the past and offering a lyrical recreation of a venerable age. Compare two slightly taller related Yongzheng-marked vases of similar form, likewise covered overall with a rich bluish-grey glaze suffused with an attractive matrix of gold and grey crackles imitating guan ware: the first, additionally pierced with two slots at the foot, from the Wang Xing Lou Collection and illustrated in Imperial Perfection: The Palace Porcelain of Three Chinese Emperors, Hong Kong, 2004, no. 80; the other, set with tubular handles, formerly in the Vernon Wethered Collection, which has sold multiple times at auction, most recently in these rooms, 3rd October 2018, lot 3638.
