英文品名：ZHOU CHEN, SCHOLARS IN A LAKESIDE PAVILION WATCHING A FISHERMAN, INK ON SILK, HANGING SCROLL 尺寸：L:126cm;W:61cm 絹本墨筆，立軸。絹地赭黃，墨色古厚。圖繪臨水草亭，亭中二人對坐清談，亭前水面一葉扁舟，舟上漁翁垂綸。遠山壁立千仞，峰頂叢樹蓊鬱；近景喬木數株，枝幹疏朗。山石以小斧劈皴皴出剛硬稜角，勾勒洗練。畫幅上方鈐鑑藏印，右下方有款署。為傳統宋人山水格局。周臣，字舜卿，號東邨，吳（今蘇州）人，明正德間畫家。工山水、人物，初學陳暹，上追南宋李唐、劉松年，筆墨蒼勁，章法謹嚴。仇英即出其門；唐寅亦曾問畫請益於氏。 A hanging scroll, ink on silk, the silk a warm ochre tone. A thatched pavilion stands by the water where two scholars sit in conversation; below, a small boat carries a fisherman casting a line. Beyond, sheer cliffs rise with dense trees on the peaks, and a few tall trees frame the foreground. The rocks are textured with small axe-cut strokes, firm and angular. A collector seal is at the top and a signature at the lower right. Zhou Chen, style name Shunqing, hao Dongcun, was a Suzhou painter of the Zhengde reign. He studied under Chen Xian and took Li Tang and Liu Songnian of the Southern Song as his models, painting landscapes and figures with firm, angular strokes and careful composition. The renowned Qiu Ying was his pupil, and Tang Yin also consulted him on painting.
