英文品名：PAN TIANSHOU, MYNAH BIRDS AT REST ON A ROCK, INK AND COLOUR ON PAPER, HANGING SCROLL 尺寸：L:153cm;W:86cm 紙本設色，立軸。圖繪兩羽八哥棲於陡巖之上，斂首凝視，墨色濃黑厚重。巖側叢花怒發，紅英鮮豔，草葉以焦墨寫出，縱橫揮掃。畫左題「幽憩」二字，並長行款署潘天壽，鈐印多方。潘氏花鳥霸悍雄奇，巨石粗筆濃墨，佈局險絕，氣魄沉雄，為現代寫意花鳥大家。潘天壽（1897–1971），原名天謹，字大頤，浙江寧海人。歷任國立藝術專科學校校長、浙江美術學院院長、中國美術家協會副主席。花鳥、山水霸悍雄奇，巨石粗筆濃墨，佈局險絕，指墨畫自成一家，為現代寫意花鳥大家。 A hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper. Two mynah birds perch on a steep rock, heads tucked and still, painted in heavy dark ink. Beside the rock, clumps of flowers burst forth in vivid red, the leaves brushed in dark ink with sweeping strokes. At the left the characters Quiet Rest are inscribed, with a long signature by Pan Tianshou and several seals. Pan Tianshou (1897–1971), from Ninghai, Zhejiang, served as head of the National Art Academy, president of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts and vice-chairman of the China Artists Association. His bird-and-flower and rock paintings are built on bold, angular compositions, heavy ink and powerful finger painting, and he ranks as one of the leading modern exponents of freehand bird-and-flower painting.
