英文品名：ZHANG DAQIAN, FISH-BASKET GUANYIN, INK AND COLOUR ON PAPER, HANGING SCROLL 尺寸：L:152cm;W:70cm 紙本設色，立軸。圖繪女子束髻簪花，身著藍衫錦裙，足踏草履，手提魚籃，籃中盛魚，緩步而行，即「魚籃觀音」之化身。衣紋勁挺，藍衣平塗鮮明，裙裾錦地紋樣細密，神態嫻靜。畫左題「魚籃大士像」，並署款鈐印。以工筆重彩為之，勾勒設色具見功力。張大千（1899–1983），名爰，字季爰，號大千，四川內江人。早年專摹石濤、八大，幾可亂真；後赴敦煌兩年，臨摹十六國至西夏壁畫，人物賦色遂得唐人雄渾。中年以後創潑墨、潑彩一格，工寫兼擅，山水、人物、花鳥無所不精。曾旅居阿根廷、巴西、美國，晚年定居臺北摩耶精舍。 A hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper. It depicts a lady with her hair in a bun, wearing a blue jacket over a patterned skirt and carrying a fish basket, portrayed as Fish-Basket Guanyin, a familiar earthly incarnation of the bodhisattva. The robes are outlined in firm lines and coloured in flat, bright tones, the patterned skirt rendered with dense detail. At the left is an inscription identifying the subject as Fish-Basket Bodhisattva, with a signature and seals. Zhang Daqian (1899–1983), born Zheng Quan in Neijiang, Sichuan, was one of the most versatile Chinese painters of the twentieth century. He first modelled himself on Shitao and Bada Shanren, then spent two years copying murals at Dunhuang, absorbing the rich Tang figure manner. Later he developed his splash-ink and splash-colour style, at home in gongbi and freehand across landscape, figure and bird-and-flower. He lived in Argentina, Brazil and the United States before settling in Taipei.
