英文品名：XUYUN, CALLIGRAPHY IN RUNNING SCRIPT, INK ON PAPER, HANGING SCROLL 尺寸：L:68cm;W:32cm 紙本行書，立軸。中堂大字，直書「萬生相」三字，筆力沉雄，結體寬博，墨氣厚重。左署虛雲，下鈐名印二方。附原裝桐木盒。虛雲禪師為近代高僧，書法以禪味取勝，不事雕琢，一氣呵成。此軸字大如鬥，氣象渾穆，可供禪堂供奉。虛雲禪師（1840–1959），湖南湘鄉人，俗姓蕭，又名演徹，號虛雲。近代禪宗巨匠，一身兼嗣臨濟、曹洞、溈仰、雲門、法眼五家法脈。一生重振雞足山祝聖寺、福州鼓山湧泉寺、韶關南華寺、乳源雲門寺、雲居山真如道場，坐禪授徒，法席極盛。一九五三年被推選為中國佛教協會名譽會長。世傳世壽一百二十歲，圓寂於江西雲居山。 A hanging scroll, running-script calligraphy on paper. Three large characters Wan Sheng Xiang are written down the centre, the brushwork weighty and powerful, the structure broad and generous, the ink thick and rich. At the left the monk Xuyun is signed, with two seals. An original paulownia box accompanies the work. Xuyun was a leading modern Buddhist monk whose calligraphy bears a Zen simplicity, unadorned and spontaneous. Master Xuyun (1840-1959), born Xiao in Xiangxiang, Hunan, was a towering figure of modern Chan Buddhism who transmitted the lineage of all five Chan houses. He restored major monasteries including Zhusheng on Jizu Mountain, Yongquan at Gushan, Nanhua at Shaoguan, and Zhenru at Yunju Mountain. In 1953 he was elected honorary president of the Buddhist Association of China. He is said to have lived to 120 and passed away at Yunju Mountain in Jiangxi.
