英文品名：LIU HAISU, SEVEN-CHARACTER CALLIGRAPHY COUPLET, INK ON PAPER, HANGING SCROLL 尺寸：L:134cm;W:33cm (x2) 紙本行書對聯。兩行大字，筆勢縱橫揮灑，蒼勁老辣，結體欹側多姿。左款「劉海粟時年七十一歲」，下鈐印二方。海粟書法熔鑄碑帖，晚年蒼茫沉鬱，氣勢逼人。此聯寫七言句，用墨飽滿，與其畫風雄肆相表裏。紙本淡粉色，裝裱精整。劉海粟（1896–1994），原名槃，字季芳，江蘇武進人。一九一二年在上海創辦圖畫美術院，為中國第一所美術學校，首倡人體模特兒寫生，並遊日本、歐洲考察西畫。歸國後融合中西，晚年作潑彩山水，氣象雄肆。書法由北碑入，晚歲參以《散氏盤》《毛公鼎》，蒼茫沉鬱，與畫風相表裏。曾任南京藝術學院院長、上海美術學院名譽院長。此聯款署「時年七十一歲」，即一九六七年前後所作。 A paired couplet of two hanging scrolls, running-script calligraphy on paper. Two columns of large characters are brushed with sweeping, vigorous force, the structure angled and lively. At the left the work is signed by Liu Haisu at the age of seventy-one, with two seals. Liu's calligraphy fuses stele and model-book traditions; in later life it became rugged and forceful. The seven-character couplet uses rich ink, matching the bold spirit of his painting. Liu Haisu (1896-1994), born in Wujin, Jiangsu, founded China's first art school in Shanghai in 1912, pioneering life drawing with nude models. He studied in Japan and Europe and later fused Eastern and Western methods, ending in bold splash-colour landscapes. His calligraphy grew from the northern stele tradition and in old age absorbed the western Zhou bronzes, becoming rugged and imposing. He served as president of Nanjing Academy of the Arts. This couplet is signed at seventy-one.
