英文品名：AN IRON-RED GILT-DECORATED TRIPOD CENSER WITH THE EIGHT BUDDHIST EMBLEMS, BEARING A SIX-CHARACTER QIANLONG MARK 尺寸：D:18cm;H:15cm 瓷質。爐作敞口鼓腹、雙沖天耳、三獸足式。通體礬紅釉為地，釉色瑩潤。腹部以金彩描繪八吉祥紋：法輪、法螺、寶傘、白蓋、金魚、寶瓶、盤腸、蓮花，各以綬帶飛舞，線條流麗。雙耳與三獸足亦描金，口沿塗金一週。底心金彩六字篆書「大清乾隆年製」款。整器造型端穩，礬紅沉鬱，金彩熠熠，為清代瓷質香具。香爐為焚香之器，宋代以降文人四藝「聞香、品茗、賞畫、插花」，香爐居首。三足沖天耳鼎式爐，造型源自商周青銅鼎，置於書齋案頭，焚香一炷，煙自爐口裊裊升起。清代佛前供器亦用鼎式爐，與燭臺、花觚合為五供。此爐礬紅描金繪八吉祥，更明其佛前供具身份。焚香多用沉香、檀香餅，爐下常襯以瓷或銅托盤。 A porcelain tripod censer covered in iron-red glaze, with an everted rim, bulbous body, two upright loop handles and three beast-head feet. The body is decorated in gilding with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, wheel, conch, umbrella, canopy, fish, vase, knot and lotus, each with floating ribbon trails. The handles, feet and rim edge are also gilt. The base centre carries a gilt six-character seal-script mark of the Qianlong period. The red glaze is deep and lustrous against the bright gold. The incense burner is the vessel for burning incense. From the Song onward, the four refined arts of the scholar, smelling incense, tasting tea, viewing painting and arranging flowers, placed incense first. This tripod censer with upright handles takes the form of the bronze ding of the Shang and Zhou; placed on a studio desk, a single stick of incense sends up a curling thread of smoke. On Buddhist altars such ding-form burners also form part of the five-offering set with candlesticks and beakers. The iron-red ground and gilt Eight Emblems here confirm its liturgical use.
