英文品名：A CORAL-GROUND SPLASHED-GOLD LINGZHI-FORM BRUSH WASHER, BEARING A FOUR-CHARACTER QIANLONG MARK 尺寸：L:16cm;W:11cm 靈芝式筆洗，作如意雲頭形，隨形起伏。通體珊瑚紅釉，灑金斑駁點綴。洗內壁浮雕一條描金螭龍，龍身蜿蜒，旁襯火焰寶珠。口沿隨形上卷，金彩沿邊勾勒。底心金彩四字篆書「乾隆年製」方款。器形別緻雅趣，為文房陳設小品。靈芝形筆洗為文房潤筆之器。靈芝自古被視為瑞草，《神農本草經》記其服食長生之說，故瓷器、玉雕、剔紅多取其如意雲頭之形，寓吉祥長壽之意。洗內盛水，書畫之際用以滌硃筆、調淡墨；隨形口沿上卷，便於容水而不灑。器身浮雕螭龍，旁襯火焰寶珠，螭龍為無角之龍，漢代以來即為玉器銅器常見紋樣，取驅邪納福。 A brush washer shaped in the form of a lingzhi fungus with undulating ruyi-lobed edges. The whole is covered in a coral-red glaze with splashed gold flecks. The interior is applied in relief with a gilt chilong dragon winding among flames and a flaming pearl. The foliate rim curls upward, outlined in gilt. The base centre carries a gilt four-character seal-script mark of the Qianlong period. It is a graceful scholar's desk object. This lingzhi-form brush washer is a scholar's desk object for holding water. The lingzhi fungus has been regarded since antiquity as an auspicious plant of immortality, recorded in the Shennong Materia Medica; hence porcelain, jade and lacquer wares take its ruyi-cloud outline as a wish for long life. The interior holds water for rinsing brushes and thinning ink; the wavy upturned rim keeps the water from spilling. The applied chilong, a hornless dragon, winding around a flaming pearl is a motif known since Han jade and bronzes, symbolising warding off evil.
