英文品名：A SET OF FOUR FAMILLE-ROSE SCHOLAR'S DESK OBJECTS, BEARING QIANLONG MARKS 尺寸：Sizes vary 文房雅器四件一組：一為八角粉彩印盒，蓋面繪東方朔偷桃圖，邊繪藍地描金纏枝蓮，內壁松石綠，底松石綠地，礬紅六字篆書「大清乾隆年製」款，清晰；二為葉形筆舔，桃紅地繪嬰戲雄雞圖，背落礬紅六字篆書「大清乾隆年製」方款；三為珊瑚紅描金龍首如意形筆擱，背上開光繪山水，並飾描金壽字，背有金彩篆書方款；四為卷書形墨床，珊瑚紅松石綠地，開光繪松下讀書圖，底落礬紅四字篆書「乾隆年製」款。一組四件皆文房用具：八角印盒貯存印泥，舊時印泥以硃砂、艾絨、麻油調製，須防潮密蓋；葉形筆舔以為蘸墨後舐筆鋒之檯；龍首如意形筆擱於懸腕時架筆；卷書形墨床承托墨錠。四者合為書齋清供，講究成套成對。盒面繪東方朔偷桃，東方朔傳為漢武帝時方士，偷西王母蟠桃故事，寓意長生；其餘飾嬰戲、讀書、山水，皆文人日常雅玩。 A set of four famille rose scholar's desk objects: (1) an octagonal seal box with a cover painted with Dongfang Shuo stealing a peach, framed by blue-ground gilt scrolling lotus, the interior turquoise and the turquoise base bearing a clear iron-red six-character seal-script mark of the Qianlong period; (2) a leaf-shaped brush rest on a peach ground painted with a boy and a rooster, the reverse bearing an iron-red six-character seal-script Qianlong mark; (3) a coral-red gilt dragon-headed ruyi-form brush rest, with a painted landscape panel on its back and gilt shou characters, the back carrying a gilt seal-script mark; (4) a scroll-form ink rest with a coral and turquoise ground, painted in a reserved panel with a scholar reading under a pine, the base bearing an iron-red four-character seal-script mark reading Qianlong nianzhi. The four objects together form a scholar's desk set: the octagonal seal box holds seal paste, traditionally made of cinnabar, mugwort fibre and sesame oil and kept airtight; the leaf-shaped brush rest is where the brush tip is wiped after dipping; the dragon-headed ruyi supports the brush while the wrist is lifted; and the scroll-shaped ink rest holds the ink cake. Together they are studio curios. The seal box cover depicts Dongfang Shuo stealing a peach, the Han dynasty immortal said to have stolen a peach of immortality from the Queen Mother of the West, while the other pieces show boys at play, a scholar reading under pines, and landscapes.
