清 白玉文殊菩薩坐像

英文品名：A WHITE JADE SEATED FIGURE OF MANJUSRI ON A LION 尺寸：W:20cm;H:30cm 白玉質，帶天然糖色。菩薩遊戲坐於伏臥獅背，頭戴五葉寶冠，頂有髻珠，身飾瓔珞臂釧，身後鏤雕火焰形大背光。右手高舉智慧利劍，左手於胸前挽蓮莖，飄帶繞臂飛舉。石獅回首蹲伏，鬃眉宛然。玉雕圓潤溫澤，衣紋流暢。下承銅鎏金花絲須彌座，座身鏨刻聯珠回紋，並鑲松石、紅藍色料珠。整器為佛教供奉陳設。右手高舉智慧利劍、左手挽蓮莖、坐於青獅者，為文殊師利菩薩（妙吉祥）。青獅象徵智慧威猛，利劍象徵斬斷無明煩惱，蓮莖象徵清淨無染。文殊與騎六牙白象之普賢並為釋迦脅侍；清人於書齋供文殊，以求開慧增智、文思進益。 A white jade bodhisattva seated in lalitasana on a recumbent lion, crowned and adorned with jewellery, with a pierced flaming mandorla behind. The right hand raises a sword and the left holds a lotus stem, ribbons swirling around the arms. The lion turns its head with detailed mane. The jade is smooth and lustrous with natural russet skin. It rests on a gilt-metal filigree pedestal chased with beaded and keyfret bands and inlaid with turquoise and red and blue cabochons. The figure raising the sword of wisdom and holding a lotus stem, seated on a lion, is Manjusri, Bodhisattva of Wisdom. The lion symbolises the roaring of wisdom that vanquishes delusion, the sword cuts through ignorance, and the lotus denotes purity. Manjusri, paired with the elephant-mounted Samantabhadra, flanks Sakyamuni; scholars enshrined him in their studios to pray for enlightenment and academic success.
