英文品名：A WHITE JADE RECUMBENT AUSPICIOUS BEAST, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：L:20cm;H:8cm 此把件為和田白玉圓雕，瑞獸匍匐回首，四足收攏，尾捲成螺旋形。頭生雙角，眉目威嚴，頷下長須。玉質溫潤瑩白，局部留黃褐色玉皮。刀法圓渾古樸，造型端穩。為清代白玉瑞獸把件。瑞獸，又稱辟邪、天祿、貔貅，傳說中龍生九子之一，能辟邪鎮宅、招財進寶。漢代玉獸已流行，唐宋以降玉雕瑞獸最盛，多作臥姿回首，置於案頭或掌中盤玩。白玉溫潤，最宜把件，經久摩挲，包漿愈亮。 This white Hetian jade beast lies with head turning back, four legs tucked, tail curled in a spiral. It has two horns, a stern brow and a long beard. The jade is warm and lustrous white, russet skin retained in places. The carving is rounded and archaic, the pose steady. It is a Qing white-jade auspicious beast. The auspicious beast (bixie, tianlu or pixiu), one of the dragon's nine sons, wards off evil and attracts wealth. Jade beasts were popular from the Han; Tang-Song and later carvings often show the recumbent, head-turning form for the desk or the palm. Warm white jade, polished by long handling, gains a deeper patina.
