英文品名：A GREEN JADE RECUMBENT BUFFALO, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：L:26cm;H:12cm 此擺件為青玉圓雕，水牛臥伏，回首遠眺，雙角彎曲，四足盤屈，尾短小。玉色青灰溫潤，局部留黃褐色玉皮浸色。刀法圓渾古樸，造型端穩。為清代青玉臥牛擺件。牛，古以為勤勞敦厚之獸，亦為祥瑞。「老子出關」騎青牛，為道教掌故；臥牛又喻「懸角讀書」「寧馨晏眠」，象徵安逸祥和。青玉溫潤，最宜把件，經久摩挲，包漿愈亮。 This green jade buffalo lies recumbent, head turning back, curved horns, legs folded beneath, short tail. The stone is warm greyish green, russet skin retained. The carving is rounded and archaic, the pose steady. It is a Qing green-jade recumbent buffalo. The buffalo was anciently a beast of diligence and honesty, also auspicious. Laozi rode a green buffalo through the pass, a Daoist theme; a recumbent buffalo also evokes peaceful repose. Warm green jade suits a hand piece, brightening with handling.
