清 白玉帶皮童子水盂

英文品名：A WHITE JADE WATER COUPE WITH CLIMBING BOYS 尺寸：L:9cm;W:7.3cm;H:6.2cm 白玉質，瑩潔溫潤，局部留天然紅褐色玉皮。器作斂口斂腹盂式，光素無紋，以童子為飾。一童子立於器側，身著短褐，雙手扶沿，手抱一束蕉葉；另一童子攀援於器壁另一側，借玉皮之色巧作衣著，一足踏地、一足登沿，姿態生動活潑。掏膛勻淨，拋光細膩，為文房盛水之器。水盂兩側攀附童子，屬明清玉器常見「嬰戲圖」題材。一童手抱蕉葉，蕉諧「招」；另一童借玉皮巧作衣著。兩童攀緣，合取「連生貴子」「麒麟送子」之祝。書齋水盂本為盛硯水之文房，兼作求子吉祥物，一器而兼具清玩與祈願。 A white jade water coupe of plain rounded form, the stone lustrous with patches of natural russet skin preserved. Two boys are carved in the round clinging to the sides: one stands supporting the rim and holding a spray of leaves, the other climbs up the wall, its clothing rendered through the russet skin, one foot braced on the base and the other on the rim. The interior is hollowed evenly and the surface finely polished. Boys clambering on a water coupe belong to the long line of playing-boys, or yingxi, subjects in Ming-Qing jade. The leaf-held boy puns on banana, jiao, and summoning, zhao, while the russet-skin carving makes a second child. Together they allude to the qilin-brings-son and lotus-born-noble-son blessings. A desk vessel for rinsing the inkstone, it also prayed for male heirs.
