清 白玉淺浮雕花卉紋鼻煙壺

英文品名：A QING WHITE JADE SNUFF BOTTLE CARVED IN LOW RELIEF WITH FLORAL SCROLLS 尺寸：H:6cm 白玉鼻煙壺。扁圓腹，斂頸，斂口，橢圓足。壺身淺浮雕花卉卷葉紋，正面開光，枝葉舒展。玉色溫白瑩潤，拋光細膩。口沿鑲金屬邊，上配藍色料石圓鈕，為清代玉鼻煙壺。鼻煙壺盛鼻煙，自明代後期傳入中國，清代大盛，上自宮廷下至士庶皆佩於身。玉質鼻煙壺取白玉溫瑩，不施繁紋，或淺雕花果，便於掌中把玩。鈕多用料石、翡翠、瑪瑙，以金屬鑲口。此件淺雕花卉，玉質溫潤，為清代玉鼻煙壺常式。 A white jade snuff bottle of flattened round body, narrow neck and mouth, oval foot. The body is carved in low relief with floral scrolls within a reserved panel, branches spreading naturally. The jade is warm white with a fine polish. The mouth is rimmed with metal and set with a blue glass stopper. A Qing jade snuff bottle. Snuff bottles held powdered tobacco, introduced in the late Ming and widely used in the Qing by court and commoner alike, carried on the person. White jade bottles are left plain or lightly carved with flowers, their warm stone meant for hand-rubbing. Stoppers of glass, jadeite or agate are set with metal rims. This lightly carved floral example is a standard Qing type.
