清乾隆 翡翠雕釋迦牟尼佛菩提葉形擺件

英文品名：A QING QIANLONG JADEITE BODHI-LEAF CARVING OF SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA 尺寸：H:19cm 翡翠雕。整器作菩提葉形，葉尖朝上，葉中鏤雕釋迦牟尼佛立像。佛螺髻長耳，面容安詳，右手下垂，左手持蓮莖。衣褶順葉形而下。玉質濃綠，翠色深沉，間含黑點與石紋。為乾隆時期佛教題材玉雕擺件。菩提樹，學名 ficus religiosa，釋迦牟尼於佛陀伽耶畢缽羅樹下夜睹明星，成無上正等正覺，此樹遂稱菩提，義為覺悟。後世造像常以菩提葉為背光、法器或龕形，喻佛成道處。葉形內雕立佛，右手下垂，左手持蓮莖，是清代翡翠佛龕常見樣式。乾隆朝好翡翠，由雲南邊貿輸入，宮中設玉作琢之，既供佛亦作禮佛文房清玩。 A jadeite carving in the form of a bodhi leaf, the tip pointing up, with Shakyamuni Buddha carved in the round at the centre of the leaf. The Buddha has a curled ushnisha and long ears, a serene face, the right hand falling and the left holding a lotus stem. The robe folds follow the leaf. The jadeite is of a deep spinach green, with natural dark inclusions. The bodhi tree is the species under which Shakyamuni attained enlightenment at Buddha-gaya, watching the morning star; hence its name, from bodhi, awakening. Later iconography uses the bodhi leaf as a mandorla, emblem or niche, recalling the site of enlightenment. Here a standing Buddha is carved within the leaf, the right hand lowered and the left holding a lotus stem, a common Qing jadeite shrine type. The Qianlong court prized jadeite, imported over the Yunnan frontier; imperial jade workshops carved it both for temple offering and for devotional desk objects.
