英文品名：A REPUBLIC-PERIOD SILVER GILT NECKLACE SET WITH JADEITE COLUMN BEADS 尺寸：L:1cm (beads) 銀鎏金鑲翡翠項鏈。鏈身以銀鏨花絲為胎，外鎏金，綴長圓柱形翡翠珠，色作深翠綠，每兩珠之間以銀鎏金隔片相連。鏈身中段飾蜜黃色圓珠及紅色小珠，末端為鏤空銀鎏金花托，下垂水滴形翠色小墜。配扣為金屬圓環，為民國首飾。項鏈之製，取翡翠珠整齊排列，以銀鎏金隔片區間，既免磨損，又增華彩。銀鎏金即以銀為胎、外鍍薄金，色澤金華而不奢，近代民國首飾多以此工代替純金，輕便耐久。蜜蠟與紅玉髓點綴其間，取金玉相映之意。此類項鏈為近代首飾常式，今多作收藏佩飾。 A silver-gilt jadeite necklace. Dark emerald-green cylindrical jadeite beads are separated by silver-gilt spacers chased on a filigree silver core; the centre is accented with a honey-yellow bead and small red beads. The clasp is openwork silver-gilt metal suspending a teardrop jadeite drop. A Republic-period piece. Such necklaces string uniform jadeite beads, the silver-gilt spacers both protecting the stone and enriching the colour. Silver gilt, a silver core fire-gilded, gives a golden lustre without the weight of pure gold and was widely used in Republic jewellery. Beeswax and red carnelian accents set off the gold and jade. This is a standard form of early-twentieth-century jewellery, now collected as adornment.
