民國 銀花絲鑲翡翠如意形掛珮

英文品名：A REPUBLIC SILVER-FILIGREE MOUNTED RUYI-FORM JADEITE PENDANT 尺寸：L:5cm 銀鑲翡翠掛珮。珮身主體為如意形翡翠牌，翠色濃綠，表淺雕鳳穿牡丹紋。外框為銀質鏤空花絲，上端飾銀鳥及花卉，兩側垂銀花小墜。下方垂數條銀鏈，綴葉形小墜，為民國佩飾。珮又稱佩，古有君子無玉不去身之語。近代銀鑲翡翠珮多作項鏈垂飾或衣襟掛件，銀花絲工藝取花式繁縷，下綴流蘇銀鏈，行動時錚錚作響。鳳穿牡丹為傳統富貴吉祥題材，寓鳳凰來儀、牡丹富貴。此件為清末民初銀作常式。 A silver-mounted jadeite pendant. The centre is a ruyi-head jadeite plaque of rich green, carved with a phoenix among peonies. It is framed in openwork silver filigree, surmounted by a silver bird and flowers, with small silver drops at the sides; below hang several chains with leaf-shaped terminals. A Republic-period pendant. Pendants descend from the ancient saying that a gentleman never left home without jade. Modern silver-mounted pendants hung from necklaces or from robe buttons; the filigree frame and dangling tassel chains tinkled when walking. The phoenix-among-peonies motif symbolises good fortune and nobility. This is a standard late-Qing to Republic silversmith form.
