清 黃楊木雕老松樹樁筆洗連木座

英文品名：A BOXWOOD CARVING OF A GNARLED PINE TRUNK, ON A HARDWOOD STAND 尺寸：L:16cm;H:12cm 黃楊木雕。器作老松蟠曲之形，樹幹中空成槽，枝椏縱橫，松針層層淺刻，鱗皮斑駁。下配硬木雕樹根式座。木色黃潤瑩亮，包漿溫厚，玲瓏透漏。黃楊木木質細膩堅密，色淡黃，生長極慢，俗謂千年黃楊，最宜鏤雕細部。清代文人好黃楊山子，置於硯山、案頭，取松之長青不老。雕刻時隨木態取勢，松幹鱗皮、針葉絲絲入微，方成雅品。 A boxwood carving of a gnarled old pine: the trunk is hollowed into a trough, branches twist in all directions, pine needles are carved in layered relief and the bark is finely scaled. It is fitted with a hardwood root-form stand. The yellow wood is warm and lustrous, open and intricate. Boxwood is fine, dense and slow-growing, ideal for intricate openwork. Qing literati favoured boxwood mountain carvings on desk tops, celebrating the evergreen pine. The carver follows the natural wood to shape bark and needle detail for a refined result.
