英文品名：A BAMBOO-ROOT LANDSCAPE BOULDER WITH FIGURES, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：L:15cm;H:10cm 此山子為竹根雕，隨天然根形雕琢層巒疊嶂，山間松樹虯枝、亭台樓閣、小橋流水，數位文人或佇立觀山、或圍坐對弈，童子侍立。下配紫檀木雕如意雲紋底座。竹色紅潤，包漿瑩亮，雕工精細。為清代竹根雕山子。山子，又稱硯山、筆山，為文房陳設器，取法宋代山水畫「以小觀大」之意，於案頭縮寫千里江山。竹根天然瘤節、盤錯蜿蜒，最宜雕山子：隨勢開鑿，松、石、人物隨勢而設。清代嘉定派竹雕最擅此技，參差玲瓏，為文房雅賞。 This bamboo-root boulder follows the natural root form, carving layered peaks, gnarled pines, pavilions, a bridge and stream, with scholars standing to view the mountains or sitting at chess, boys attending. It stands on a carved zitan ruyi-cloud stand. The bamboo is reddish and lustrous, the carving minute. It is a Qing bamboo-root landscape boulder. The boulder (shanzi), also called inkstone or brush mountain, is a desk display that condenses a thousand-li landscape into a small view, condensing the spirit of Song landscape painting. Bamboo roots, knotted and twisting, suit the form: peaks, pines and figures follow the natural form. The Jiading school of Qing bamboo carving excelled at this, making intricate desk curios.
