英文品名：A BAMBOO-ROOT CARVING OF AN IMMORTAL HOLDING A PEACH 尺寸：H:20cm 竹雕。仙翁結跏坐於石座，頭梳髮髻，長髯垂胸，袒胸露腹，雙手捧碩桃於懷，面相開懷大笑。衣紋流暢，足齒畢現，竹色淺黃瑩潤，包漿古樸。相傳西王母瑤池設蟠桃會，三千年一開花、三千年一結果，食之長生。漢武帝曾赴王母宴，得壽桃而食。自此壽桃為祝壽首選，仙翁捧桃即頌長生。竹根隨形雕坐像，溫潤可愛。 A bamboo-root carving of an immortal seated on a rock base, topknot and long beard, bare chest and belly, cradling a large peach in both hands, face split in a broad laugh. The drapery flows naturally, toes and teeth are detailed, the pale bamboo warmly patinated. The Queen Mother of the West held peach-banquets in her Jasper Pool: the peach trees flower and fruit only once every three thousand years, granting immortality. Emperor Wu of Han is said to have attended such a feast; hence the peach became the prime birthday wish. An immortal bearing a peach praises long life, carved here in natural bamboo root form.
