英文品名：A BAMBOO BRUSH POT CARVED IN RELIEF WITH SCHOLARS AND HORSES UNDER PINES 尺寸：D:11cm;H:14cm 竹雕。筆筒外壁深浮雕松蔭雅集：老松虯曲，松下數士或坐或立，其下一人蹲坐飼馬，旁有臥馬、立馬，山石層疊。刀工層次分明，竹色棗紅瑩潤。竹雕筆筒明清最盛，江寧、嘉定為名家所出。浮雕講究深淺數層，前景人物、中景松樹、背景山石層層退遠，如同浮雕畫卷。此件松蔭飼馬之景，即取伯樂相馬典故，刀下見意。 A bamboo brush pot carved in deep relief with a pine-grove gathering: an ancient gnarled pine shelters scholars seated and standing, while below a man crouches tending horses, with standing and recumbent horses among layered rocks. The tonal layers are clear, the bamboo a date-red tone. Bamboo brush pots flourished in the Ming-Qing, the Jiangning and Jiading schools producing celebrated carvers. Relief work builds several depth layers, foreground figures, mid-ground pines, background rocks, like a sculpted handscroll. This pine-and-horse scene evokes the theme of Bole judging horses, rendered through the knife.
