英文品名：A CARVED RED LACQUER (TIHONG) LOBED BOX WITH FIGURAL AND FLORAL PANELS, QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD 尺寸：D:11cm 此盒為木胎剔紅製，作花瓣式倭角造型，輪廓柔美。蓋面開光內浮雕山水人物故事圖，松下童子嬉戲，長者憑几觀書，佈局疏朗。盒身滿刻牡丹、芙蓉等花卉紋，地子露黑褐漆層，形成紅黑對比。邊廓飾回紋錦地，刀法圓熟，漆色沉鬱亮潤，為乾隆朝雕漆之器。剔紅屬雕漆之一種，其法先以木或夾紵為胎，上層層髹塗朱紅大漆，少則數十層，多則百餘層，候半乾時以刀雕刻花鳥、人物、錦地。刀口深處露出下列漆層，故紅色有深淺層次之變。元代張成、楊匯以此名世，明清內府設漆作專司其事。因漆層乾燥緩慢，一件往往經年方成，故向為皇家重器。此盒蓋面開光人物、地子錦紋即其典型。 This lobed tihong (carved red lacquer) box has a wood core and petal-shaped outline. The lid is carved in relief with a figural scene under pine trees depicting scholars and playing boys, while the body is densely decorated with scrolling peony and hibiscus flowers, revealing the dark ground lacquer for a striking red-and-black contrast. Key-fret borders frame the composition. The carving is mature and the lacquer has a rich, deep patina. Tihong (carved red lacquer) builds up a wood or cloth core with dozens to over a hundred layers of cinnabar lacquer, which is carved while half-dry with birds, flowers, figures and diaper grounds; deeper cuts reveal earlier layers for a tonal depth. Masters such as Zhang Cheng and Yang Hui of the Yuan made the technique famous, and Ming-Qing imperial workshops kept lacquer ateliers. Because layers must dry slowly, a single box could take a year. The figural medallion and brocade ground on this lid are characteristic of the craft.
