清 剔犀如意雲紋長方蓋盒

英文品名：A TIXI CARVED LACQUER RECTANGULAR BOX AND COVER 尺寸：L:23cm;W:7cm;H:7cm 剔犀（雲雕）長方蓋盒。盒呈長方形，蓋與身皆滿雕如意雲紋，刀口圓潤，層層翻卷。黑漆為面，刀口處露紅色漆層，黑紅相間，如卷雲千層，包漿瑩亮，為清代雕漆文房盒。剔犀又稱雲雕，為雕漆之一：以黑、紅（或紫）兩色漆層層髹塗，積至數十層，再於胎上雕雲紋、如意紋，刀口斷面即現黑紅相間的圈線。元代張成、楊茂為雕漆名家，明清兩代內務府造辦處亦燒造。此類盒多用於盛墨錠、印章、信箋，置於書案。 A tixi (cloud-carved) lacquer rectangular box and cover. The box is oblong; lid and body are entirely carved with ruyi cloud scrolls, the cuts rounded and layered. Black is the surface colour, while the knife edges reveal red lacquer beneath, alternating black and red like a thousand rolled clouds. The patina is lustrous. Tixi, or cloud carving, is a carved lacquer: black and red (or purple) lacquer is built up in dozens of layers, then carved with cloud or ruyi scrolls so that the cut edges reveal the alternating coloured rings. Zhang Cheng and Yang Mao were celebrated Yuan carvers, and the Qing Imperial Workshops continued the tradition. Such boxes held ink-cakes, seals or letter paper on the desk.
