英文品名：A QIANLONG AGARWOOD BRUSH POT CARVED IN DEEP RELIEF WITH PINES AND CRANES 尺寸：D:15cm;H:30cm 沉香木雕。筆筒作樹椿式，口沿隨形，深浮雕通景松鶴：蒼松虯幹，鱗皮斑駁，松針團攢；丹頂仙鶴或立或啄，穿插松枝之間。刀層深邃，枝幹前後錯落，間有透雕見空。器底陰刻填銀行書三列：「歲次乙巳年仲夏」「黃氏記」，並鈐方印二。木色深沉褐潤，香氣溫厚，為清乾隆朝文房重器。松鶴延年為傳統吉祥題材。松為百木之長，經冬不凋，喻長壽；仙鶴為羽族之宗，傳為長壽仙禽，相傳鶴壽千歲。松鶴合繪，取松鶴遐齡之意，為祝壽清供。沉香本為香木，質堅而紋細，最宜深雕；清代內府頗重沉香雕刻，以其香韻與雕工並重。 An agarwood brush pot carved in the form of a natural tree trunk, the rim irregular. Deep relief shows a continuous scene of pines and cranes: twisting trunks with scaly bark and clustered pine needles; red-crowned cranes stand and preen among the branches. The carving is deeply layered, with openwork passages. The underside is incised with three columns of silver-filled running script reading sui ci yi si nian zhongxia and Huang shi ji, followed by two square seals. The wood is a rich dark brown with a warm patina. A Qianlong-period scholar's object. Pines and cranes prolonging life is a classic auspicious subject. The pine, chief of trees, is evergreen and symbolises longevity; the crane is the bird of immortals said to live a thousand years. Together they convey wishes for long life, a favoured birthday motif. Agarwood is a fragrant wood, hard and fine-grained, suited to deep relief; the Qing court valued agarwood carvings for both their fragrance and their craft.
