清 銅鏤空龍紋提梁手爐“大明宣德年製”款

英文品名：A BRONZE HANDWARMER WITH OPENWORK DRAGON COVER AND BAIL HANDLE, BEARING A CAST XUANDE MARK 尺寸：W:25cm;H:29.5cm 銅製。手爐作扁方形，鼓腹斂底，上承鏤空蓋。蓋面鏤雕穿花龍紋，龍身穿行於卷草之間，煙孔玲瓏。蓋沿飾卷草紋一圈。器身兩側設一銅提梁，梁身有凹槽便於抽拉，梁下以蝴蝶形飾片與器身相連。底鑄陽文「大明宣德年製」六字楷書款。銅皮沉穆，包漿溫潤，為清代暖手之具。手爐又稱「捧爐」「暖手爐」，明清士人、閨眷冬季置於袖中或捧於掌中取暖。爐內盛燒紅炭基，上覆鏤空蓋以透熱散香。提梁便於隨手捧持，蓋面穿花龍紋鏤孔兼作出煙口。寒冬讀書、閨中閒話，皆以手爐溫手，為冬日隨身暖器。 A bronze handwarmer of flattened square form, with a rounded body and recessed base, fitted with a pierced cover. The cover is openwork carved with a dragon among scrolling flowers, the perforations allowing heat and scent to escape, and edged with a scroll border. A swinging overhead bail handle is pivoted at the sides through butterfly-shaped mounts. The base is cast with an incised six-character regular-script mark of the Xuande period. The bronze has a deep, mellow patina, a Qing handwarmer. A handwarmer, or shoulu, was a personal winter warmer held in the palm or carried inside the sleeve by Ming and Qing scholars and gentlewomen. A charcoal tablet was lit inside the bronze body and covered by the pierced lid, the holes allowing gentle heat and faint fragrance to escape. The swinging bail handle made it easy to carry while reading or conversing on cold days; it was a standard winter companion in the study and inner chamber.
