清 銅刻藏傳祖師像鉢式爐

英文品名：A BRONZE BOWL CENSER ENGRAVED WITH TIBETAN BUDDHIST MASTERS, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：D:16cm;H:7cm 此缽式爐為銅鑄，斂口圓腹，下承圈足。外壁一週陰刻藏傳佛教祖師像四尊，分別題名「唐東嘉布」「格桑嘉措」「羅桑確吉堅贊」「釋迦光」等，線描流暢如鐵線，人物各持法器結坐。銅皮光素，包漿古雅。此爐與清代理藩院及藏傳佛教因緣甚深。鉢式爐斂口圓腹，彷彿門持鉢之制，最宜於佛前供案：中貯酥油、線香或末香，置於佛像前。外壁刻藏傳佛教祖師像，與清代內府與達賴喇嘛、班禪額爾德尼及章嘉呼圖克圖之往來有關——理藩院凡冊封、賜物、講經，往往以銅爐、供器隨行。此器線刻四祖，即供於佛前、作為修法所依之對象。 This bronze bowl-shaped censer has a rounded body and foot ring. The exterior is engraved with four seated Tibetan Buddhist masters, each inscribed with his name including Tangdong Gyalpo, Galsang Gyatso, and Losang Khyenrab Gyaltsen. The fine line engraving resembles iron-wire drawing. The bronze has an elegant ancient patina, reflecting the close court-Tibet Buddhist connections of the Qing period. The bowl-shaped censer, copying the Buddhist monk's alms bowl, was especially suited to the altar: it held butter lamps, sticks or powdered incense before the image. Engraved with Tibetan Buddhist masters, it reflects Qing court ties with the Dalai Lama, Panchen Lama and Changkya Khutukhtu: the Lifan Yuan often sent bronze burners and offerings on investitures and teachings. This four-portrait example was an altar piece supporting devotional practice.
