清 銅獸首銜環耳三足爐

英文品名：A QING BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER WITH ANIMAL-MASK RING HANDLES 尺寸：D:12.5cm;H:10cm 銅鑄。雙獸耳三足爐，侈口束頸，扁圓鼓腹，下承三小乳足。頸部兩側出獸首，口銜活環。腹身光素，銅色金黃瑩亮，包漿溫厚，為清代文房銅爐。獸耳銜環爐源於上古青銅簋、壺獸首耳之制，置於几案焚香。獸首取驅邪之意，銅環可繫可執。此器銅色金黃，皮殼瑩潤，為清代中期以來常見文房銅爐，多配木座陳於書案。 A bronze censer with two animal-mask ears and three feet. It has a flared mouth, narrow neck, squat rounded body and three small teat feet. On either side of the neck a beast head holds a loose ring. The body is plain, the bronze a warm golden brown with a mellow patina. A Qing desk censer. Beast-mask ring-handled censers derive from the animal-handled gui and hu vessels of ancient bronzes, burned on the desk. The beast head wards off evil and the ring may be held or tied. The golden tone and mellow patina place this among mid-Qing studio censers, often set on a wood stand on the desk.
