清 銅夔龍耳獸面紋簋式爐

英文品名：A BRONZE GUI-FORM CENSER WITH KUI-DRAGON HANDLES AND TAOTIE BAND 尺寸：D:23cm;H:12cm 銅鑄。簋式香爐，侈口束頸，碩腹下垂，下承圈足。頸下浮雕獸體夔龍紋一周，以回紋錐刻為地。兩側對稱設螭龍耳，龍首探出沿外，身形彎弧。腹下光素，銅皮棗褐瑩潤。簋式爐取寬腹斂口之形，碩腹下垂，最宜盛香餅香丸。頸間夔龍紋一圈，以回紋為地；兩側螭龍耳彎弧探出，便於執持。文人書齋焚香，講求爐暖、香細、火緩，於此寬腹爐中燃檀香、沉香，香氣徐出，伴讀伴畫。 A bronze gui-form censer with a flared rim, narrow neck and deep rounded body on a ring foot. Around the shoulder is a relief band of kui-dragon and taotie motifs on an incised key-fret ground. Two chi-dragon handles arch from the rim. The lower body is plain, with a warm date-brown patina. The gui-form censer takes a broad belly and narrow neck, the deep rounded body ideal for incense cakes and pills. A kui-dragon band circles the shoulder on a key-fret ground, and two arched chi-dragon handles ease handling. In the scholar's studio, incense is burned with a warm burner, fine incense and a slow fire; in this broad-bellied vessel, sandalwood and aloeswood smoulder, fragrance rising slowly to accompany reading and painting.
