英文品名：A BRONZE VASE WITH FLARED RIM, BEARING A TWO-CHARACTER XUANDE MARK, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：H:18cm 此瓶為銅鑄，作長頸撇口式：口沿外撇，細長頸，圓球腹，矮圈足。通體光素無紋，以線條取勝，肩腹之間過渡圓潤。器底鑄方形二字篆書“宣德”款。銅色茶葉末狀褐綠，包漿溫潤古厚。為清代銅撇口瓶，宜作花器或陳設。銅花瓶與銅香爐同，為書齋清供之要。長頸撇口瓶，又稱賞瓶，原本為陳設器，宋代官、哥、定窯多燒此式。明清以銅為之，取其厚重耐久、不滲不漏。器底鑄方形二字篆書“宣德”款。花器之中，長頸瓶宜插梅、臘梅、松枝。 This bronze vase has a flared rim, slender neck, globular body and low foot. It is undecorated, its appeal lying in the rounded transition between shoulder and belly. The base is cast with a square two-character seal-script Xuande mark. The bronze has a tea-dust brown-green patina, warm and mellow. It is a Qing bronze flared-rim vase, suited to flowers or display. Bronze flower vases, like bronze censers, were key desk furnishings. The long-neck flared-rim vase (shangping) was originally a display form made in Song Guan, Ge and Ding wares; Ming-Qing bronzes took the form for their weight and watertightness. The base is cast with a square two-character seal-script Xuande mark. Long-neck vases suit plum, wintersweet and pine branches.
