英文品名：A BRONZE SEAL-PASTE BOX WITH ARABIC SCRIPT, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：D:9.5cm;H:4cm 此盒為銅鑄，圓形扁盒，蓋面陽文浮雕阿拉伯文一行，字體遒勁，地子滿布珍珠錦地。盒內殘留紅色印泥。銅色黃褐，包漿溫潤。為清代回族文房印泥盒。明清之際，回族（回回）文人家常以阿拉伯文飾器物。蓋面阿拉伯文多為「太斯米」（奉普慈特慈真主之名）或讚主之辭，以示信仰。銅印泥盒為文房必備，蓋面鑿阿拉伯文者，多見於雲南、陝西、甘肅回族聚居區，為中西文化交流之實物。 This round bronze seal-paste box has a lid cast in relief with a line of vigorous Arabic script on a beaded brocade ground. Red seal paste remains inside. The bronze is yellow-brown with a warm patina. It is a Qing Hui-minority scholar's paste box. Under the Ming-Qing, Hui (Chinese Muslim) scholars often decorated objects with Arabic script. Lid inscriptions are usually the basmala (in the name of God, the Compassionate) or a praise of God. Bronze seal-paste boxes were essential desk ware; Arabic-inscribed examples are common in Yunnan, Shaanxi and Gansu Hui communities, testifying to Sino-Islamic exchange.
