明 銅龍首銜環耳獸面紋方壺

英文品名：A MING BRONZE SQUARE HU VASE WITH DRAGON-HEAD RING HANDLES AND TAOTIE DECORATION 尺寸：H:30cm 銅鑄。方口外撇，長頸斂腹，方台足。頸肩兩側設對稱雙龍耳，龍首銜環。頸部及腹身滿雕獸面夔龍紋，以回紋錐刻為地，腹部中央飾渦紋圓餅。銅皮墨黑瑩亮，器形挺拔端莊。方壺器形方正，方口方腹方足，取端肅中正之意，在銅器中屬少見。長頸兩肩對稱龍首銜環耳，威儀倍加；頸腹滿雕獸面夔龍紋，回紋為地，腹心渦紋圓餅。此器置於書齋廳堂，或插供花，或獨陳博古，墨黑皮殼挺拔端莊。 A square bronze vase with a flared square mouth, long narrow neck and a square foot. Symmetrical dragon-head ring handles rise at the shoulders. The neck and body are densely carved with taotie and kui-dragon motifs on an incised key-fret ground, centred on the belly by a circular spiral medallion. The black patina is lustrous, the form upright and formal. The square hu is rectilinear throughout — square mouth, square body, square foot — carrying an air of rectitude and seldom seen among bronzes. Paired dragon-head ring handles rise at the long neck, adding formal weight; taotie and kui-dragon motifs densely cover neck and body on a key-fret ground, centred by a spiral medallion. Displayed in studio or hall, holding flowers or alone as a bo-gu furnishing, the black lustrous vase stands upright and formal.
