清 銅獸面紋三足爵杯

英文品名：A QING BRONZE JUE-FORM TRIPOD WINE CUP WITH TAOTIE BANDS 尺寸：H:18cm 銅鑄。爵杯前侈流，後翹尾，口沿立雙柱，柱頂作傘狀。腹身一周浮雕獸面夔龍紋，以回紋為地。下承三長尖足，足外撇。銅皮深褐瑩潤，器形優雅。爵為上古飲酒禮器，前有侈流、後翹尾，口沿立雙柱，下承三尖足，行裸禮時用之。「爵」亦為爵位之稱，寓意尊榮。後世取式鑄杯，於雅集、婚禮中獻酒祝飲，流、尾、柱、足俱全，古意盎然，置於書齋博古架，文雅可賞。 A bronze jue-form tripod wine cup of archaic ritual form, with a long spout and pointed tail, two umbrella-topped posts on the rim. The body carries a relief band of taotie and kui-dragon on a key-fret ground, raised on three splayed pointed feet. The dark brown patina is mellow. The jue was an ancient wine ritual vessel: a long spout in front, a pointed tail behind, two posts on the rim and three pointed feet, used in the libation rite. The same character denotes rank, conveying honour. Later cast cups kept the spout, tail, posts and feet for toasts at elegant gatherings and weddings, and stood on the scholar's bo-gu shelf, elegant and ancient in feel.
