英文品名：A GILT-BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF AVALOKITESVARA, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：H:22cm 此像為銅鎏金，菩薩結跏趺坐於仰蓮座上，頭戴五葉寶冠，冠葉鏨刻精細，面頰鎏金，慈藹微俯。項飾瓔珞、臂釧、腕釧俱全，右手下垂與願印，左手置於膝上。蓮瓣飽滿，邊起聯珠。背板缺失。銅皮深褐，面頰金彩溫潤。為清代銅鎏金佛像。觀音菩薩，又稱觀世音、觀自在，為西方極樂世界阿彌陀佛脅侍，大悲救苦，聞聲相救。唐代避太宗李世民諱，略稱觀音。觀音造像多作菩薩裝：戴寶冠、披瓔珞、結跏趺坐，或持淨瓶、楊柳，或結與願印。清代宮中及內蒙古、藏區極崇觀音，銅鎏金觀像多見。 This gilt-bronze bodhisattva sits in full lotus on a lotus pedestal, wearing a finely chased five-leaf crown, the face gilded and gently downcast. Jewelled necklaces, armlets and bangles adorn her; the right hand hangs in varada mudra and the left rests on the knee. The lotus petals are full, edged with beads; the mandorla is lost. The bronze is dark brown, the face warm with gilding. It is a Qing gilt-bronze Buddhist figure. Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, is attendant to Amitabha in the Pure Land, hearing the cries of the suffering. Under the Tang Taizong's name taboo, Guanshiyin was shortened to Guanyin. Images usually show a bodhisattva with crown and jewels, in full lotus, holding a vase and willow or in varada mudra. The Qing court and Inner Mongolian and Tibetan regions venerated Guanyin, and gilt-bronze images are common.
