英文品名：A GILT-BRONZE SEATED GREEN TARA, QING DYNASTY 尺寸：L:22cm;H:38cm 此像為銅鎏金，綠度母遊戲坐式，右腿舒展下垂踏蓮花，左腿屈盤。高髻豎髮，面龐清俊，眉眼細長微俯。項飾瓔珞、臂釧、腕釧，腰系絛帶，坐於仰蓮座上。右手結與願印，左手持烏波羅花。面容與手部露銅胎黑亮，餘皆鎏金燦然。背面木蓋刻金剛杵紋。為清代藏傳佛像。度母，梵名 Tara，意為救度母，為觀音菩薩悲淚所化，有二十一相。綠度母為主尊，現慈悲相，右足舒展、左足盤曲，象徵隨時起身救度眾生。藏傳佛教尤崇綠度母，奉為滿願之本尊。清代宮中及蒙古、西藏廣鑄銅鎏金綠度母像，多配木雕背光與蓮座。 This gilt-bronze Green Tara sits in royal ease, the right leg extended down treading a lotus, the left tucked in. Her hair is in a high chignon, the face refined with long downcast eyes. Jewelled necklaces, armlets and bangles and a sash adorn her on a lotus; the right hand is in varada mudra, the left holds an utpala flower. Face and hands are dark bronze, the rest brightly gilded; the wood back cover is carved with a vajra. It is a Qing Tibetan Buddhist figure. Tara, the Saviouress, arose from a tear of Avalokiteshvara and has twenty-one forms. Green Tara, the chief, sits in ease with the right leg extended, symbolizing readiness to rise and save beings. Tibetan Buddhism venerates her as the wish-granting deity; the Qing court and Mongol and Tibetan regions cast many gilt-bronze Green Taras, often with wood mandorlas.
