英文品名：A BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF THE BHAISHAJYAGURU (MEDICINE BUDDHA), MING DYNASTY 尺寸：L:18cm;W:12cm;H:24cm 此像為銅鑄，藥師佛結跏趺坐於雙層仰蓮座上，螺髮高髻，面目慈藹微俯。右手下垂結觸地印，左手置於腹前持缽。袈裟衣紋流暢自然，蓮瓣飽滿。銅皮深褐古厚，內膛殘留硃紅色裝藏。為明代銅藥師佛像。藥師佛，全稱藥師琉璃光如來，為東方淨琉璃世界之主，與釋迦、阿彌陀並稱橫三世佛。藥佛十二大願，願為眾生除病苦、延壽命、滿眾願。漢地寺院大雄寶殿橫三世佛，中釋迦、左藥師、右阿彌陀。藥師像多左手持藥缽、右手觸地或施無畏，置於佛堂，祈求消災延壽。 This bronze Medicine Buddha sits in full lotus on a double-lotus pedestal, with snail-curled ushnisha and a gentle downcast face. The right hand touches the earth, the left holds an alms bowl before the belly. The robes fall naturally and the lotus petals are full. The bronze is dark brown, the interior preserving cinnabar consecration. It is a Ming Medicine Buddha. Bhaiṣajyaguru, the Medicine Master of Lapis Light, presides over the Eastern Pure Lapis Realm; with Sakyamuni and Amitabha he forms the Buddhas of the Three Directions. His twelve vows promised to heal illness and lengthen life. In Mahavira halls he is usually the left figure. Images hold a medicine bowl and touch the earth or grant fearlessness, set in shrines to dispel illness and prolong life.
